If you can just to walk, you can enjoy hiking in Utah. And backpacking. And even if you cannot, there are adventures for you to enjoy also. Its not necessary to be in great shape. And you dont need lots of equipment.

Sure, if you wish to spend money, you can drop hundreds... even thousands... of dollars. Expensive shoes. State-of-the-art backpacks. And all sorts of the latest gadgets sold at REI can all accumulate.
But exactly what do you actually need? You will get by with a good, comfortable pair of walking or hiking shoes. And little else. I still make use of a 56" walking stick I made when I was a young lad in Canada many years ago.
Should you continue overnight trips, obviously an investment is higher. Motels, food and gas can also add up. And the initial outlay for many good equipment. But consider it. After those expenses, what remains?

You should use that same equipment again and again, year after year. The best of this? You get to enjoy millions of acres of unbelievable, roadless country with little if any outlay.
By todays standards, hiking in Utah is really as near to free as you can get. Have you taken a vacation to Disneyland or Disney World lately? Wow! That will drain your wallet.

But even better. Consider the freedom. The lack of stress and regulation...being told how to proceed... so prevalent in todays world. No TSA. No one scans. No groin and breast groping uniformed Gestapo to deal with.
When Im on a trail, none of that exists. It all gets left out. No TV, no internet, no smartphone. Well, I actually do have a camera.
Of course, when I say you need to be minimally fit to hike, I have to qualify that statement. I am fully conscious of the health of the average person in our country. Along with other countries.
Minimal fitness doesnt mean what it really accustomed to. But there really are hikes readily available for people of almost all physical capabilities. Of course, the better condition you are in, the more youll enjoy it.
Utah hiking offers unparalleled opportunities to escape. To find information about and find out a novelty helmet soaring majestically overhead while grasping for something to hold onto and also hardwearing . balance.
To listen to a bugling bull elk in the center of a stand of golden quakies within the fall. To see a monster mule deer buck look at you like its rarely seen a person - thats happened in my experience. To come face to face having a bull moose standing in the actual middle of your trail.
